Project Description
Returning to Cameroon I had several projects in mind. One was to capture the lives of the tiniest orphans, in this case chimpanzees Daphne and Larry, growing up in the sanctuary. Unlike most people I had spent most of my time with chimps in the wild, so I was keen to see the similarities and differences. During month I spent several hours each day concentrated solely on Daphne and Larry, and their two care-givers, keepers Sanda and Romain. Many of those hours nothing happened, but when it did it was a an eruption of playfulness, curiosity, fears, confidence building, and watching little two amazing minds and bodies growing into themselves, the first baby-steps in becoming chimpanzees.
